Production Consulting

A company’s production pipeline is just as important as it’s product and business model. When everything moves through the pipe smoothly and seamlessly, deadlines are met, budgets are kept, and morale goes through the roof. As companies grow and projects become complicated, inefficiencies and miscommunication begin to affect the production process leading to missed deadlines, massive overtime billed, and employee burnout.

A company’s production pipeline behaves just like a human’s gastro-intestinal system. When everything is functioning properly, the person feels well, and when there’s major problems, they are usually noticed and treated immediately. It’s the minor discomforts that are dangerous. Manning up, or sucking it up, and pushing through might get you through a week, month, or even several years, but sooner or later, that minor discomfort turns into a serious problem that requires a radical solution.

After 5 years of working in the trenches coordinating all aspects of a project, from inception to delivery, I’ve developed a keen eye for detecting inefficiencies, miscommunications, and alleviating those minor discomforts before they become something bigger.

It is my personal philosophy that just like an individual has to get an annual physical and a checkup, so does a company’s production pipe. As a company grows, implements new project management techniques and metrics to evaluate performance, the production pipeline is usually overlooked, and needs to be checked. When a company finds itself missing deadlines, sacrificing quality, or logging massive amounts of over time, it’s serious indication that the production pipeline needs to be addressed.
